Walk to Remember....

Today was Edmontons first Walk to Remember to support all the families who have lost a baby to miscarriage, stillbirths, early infant death or SIDS. It was a very meaningful and touching day. About 350 people showed up to walk today and its sad to think that we all have a bond with each other that none of us really wants and yet it is special to have that bond and to know we are not alone in our journeys.

The walk was held at the leg grounds and was followed by a balloon release. I loved the balloon release... each little life lost was named and the family would release the balloon in that moment... very powerful. Along part of the walking path the name ofevery baby being remembered at todays walk was written.... it was quite the site.

Here are a few pictures from the day. Jay found three different spots that held three things... maybe it was meant to be a sign to us to let us know that our angels are together :)

The balloon release. Peanuts balloon got stuck.....

And just one of us :)

Kerri,
i came here from your comment on my blog, and i'm so glad i did! I am looking at my friends posts and appreciating all the details that they photographed and that i never :) - It is so nice to be able to put a face to some of those little names - i'm so sorry that you lost those three little ones. I am still a little overwhelmed from the Walk, but i am going to do it again next year if i can't get one organized here in my town. It was so worth making the drive...
